We are SO excited to continue a new tradition of Evensong at the A-Frame in collaboration with the phenomenal vocal ensemble Sound of Ages (Kameron Kavanaugh, artistic director). We anticipate that Evensong will be a quarterly event, presented to coincide (approximately) with summer/winter solstices and autumn/spring equinoxes.
Traditionally, “evensong” is a service of evening prayers, consisting mostly of music, that is common in the Anglican/Episcopal tradition (similar to “vespers” in the Catholic tradition).
Our Evensong, however, is not a religious/denominational “service,” but rather a moment designed for musical meditation and regular personal renewal. A small roster of fabulous singers (all members of Sound of Ages) will perform exquisite contemplative works from Gregorian chant to the modern era. We may also include instrumental music, and we’ll likely keep the lights low and the room very quiet. If music feeds your soul, this is a meal you won’t want to miss.
