The Aspen Grove Trio will perform a program of Slavic folk music and lament, featuring works of Dvořák and Shostakovich.

Aspen Grove Trio
The Aspen Grove Trio began performing together in the spring of 2023, winning the 1st prize in the Music Teachers National Association Chamber Music Competition in March 2024. Although the group formed in the West, the trio has since relocated to New York City, where each of its members is pursuing advanced studies at Manhattan School of Music and the Juilliard School.


Caroline Durham Jorden, violin
Caroline Durham Jorden began her violin training at New England Conservatory Preparatory School in Boston and has since studied with Deborah Moench, Eugene Watanabe, Monte Belknap, and Alex Woods. She has received awards from the Utah Symphony Youth Guild, Music Teachers National Association, Utah Music Teachers Association, and has soloed with the Brigham Young University Philharmonic, Utah Valley Symphony, the Ballet West Academy in Berlin, among others. Caroline performs frequently with Billings Symphony, Candlelight Concerts, and is a founding member of Aspen Grove Trio. A recent graduate from Brigham Young University, she will be attending the Manhattan School of Music to pursue a Master’s degree in violin performance this fall. 


Nathan Cox, cello
A solo, chamber, and orchestral cellist, Nathan Cox is a graduate cellist at Juilliard, where he studies with Zvi Plesser and Zlatomir Fung and is principal cello. He grew up in a musical home, studied at The Colburn School, he graduated cum laude from Brigham Young University. Nathan is a recent finalist or winner of the Harrell Dungey Cello Loan Competition, Aspen Music Festival concerto competition, MTNA Young Artist national competition, and Juilliard Concerto Competition. 


Tanner Jorden, piano
Aspen Grove Trio cofounder Tanner Jorden is a graduate student of Yoheved Kaplinsky at The Juilliard School, having graduated recently from Brigham Young University, where he studied with Scott Holden. Jorden has been a featured soloist with Utah Valley Symphony, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, the Montana Youth Symphony, and Billings Symphony. He won First Prize in the MTNA National Chamber Music Competition with the Aspen Grove Trio, Second Prize at the PianoArts North American Piano Competition, and First Prize in the Sir Donald Runnicles Young Artist Competition.
