StorySlam 2024 with Dr. Jamin Rowan
PARTICIPANT EXPERIENCE (2 workshops + 1 mentored performance) ... $50
Whether you're a teacher in a classroom, a parent in the family room, a manager in a meeting room, or a citizen in a city council room, story and storytelling are central to how we humans think, communicate, live, and work. It's no wonder that leaders practice public speaking and entrepreneurs learn improv comedy. Patterned after the MOTH Radio Hour, our first-ever StorySlam will give participants the chance to develop storytelling skills by preparing, rehearsing, and ... later ... performing a story at a live event in the A-Frame. Not only will participants learn valuable skills and have fun, but they will be in the running for the soon-to-be-coveted Audience Choice prize!
Dr. Jamin Rowan, who has pioneered storytelling teaching at BYU, will lead two required, one-hour workshops (Jan 6 and Jan 9 at 7:30pm at the A-Frame) and will emcee the performance, featuring you (Jan 24 at 7:30 at the A-Frame). This small-group experience is limited to 8 participants.
